What we do

Welcome to Mission for Sustainable Hope (MISH)

Our Story

Mission for Sustainable Hope (MISH) was born from a deep commitment to addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable communities in Northern Kenya. Growing up in the region, the founder, Mr. Peter Durito, witnessed firsthand the effects of food insecurity, water scarcity, limited economic opportunities, and other barriers that prevented individuals and families from achieving sustainable livelihoods. These experiences inspired his vision of creating lasting solutions that would empower communities to become self-reliant and resilient.

What We Do

Ecomomic Empowerment

Targeting vulnerable women through literacy and numerical skills, mental health, hygiene education, leadership and decision-making capacities

Climate smart agriculture & food security

Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) regions face droughts and scarcity of water that exacerbates food insecurity

Access to clean Water

Provision for sustainable access to safe and sufficient water for households, schools, and communities is essential. This program ensures that communities have reliable, safe and sustainable water sources.

Research & learning

Engage in peer-learning events, knowledge management and exchange, driving innovation, accelerating scale, and helping families, communities and institutions build sustainable livelihood and alleviate poverty
